New World Brimstone Sands is a new patch that brings new content, balance changes, and awesome gear into the game. Players believe this update will add enough content to end the game’s recent lack of activities. Get ready and look into these changes together with Overgear.
Early Leveling Rework
These changes are going to smooth the leveling process from start to level 25 when players can start the first Expedition. Now players will get better rewards with less running around the world. Also, the game now offers two more storylines for the Monarch’s Bluffs and Windsward starting zones
Another big change is the implementation of new Points of Interest and minor reworks to old ones. This makes the world a lot closer to what players may have expected. Many new POIs are now used for the starting quests. These new changes help players to feel refreshed and enjoy the game once again.
New Weapon: Greatsword
Meet, the New World’s biggest weapon! The huge pros of this weapon are that it scales both with Strength and Dexterity. This makes the weapon perfect to pair with both Melee or Ranged Weapon. Note that not every pairing is equally strong, but most will work well. Still, this is a decent choice.
The Greatsword has two Stances. Players can choose between Onslaught Stance and Defiant Stance. Onslaught Stance is more offensive, it increases both damage taken and done. It doubles the speed of Charged Heavy Attacks. Defiant Stance on the opposite lowers your damage done and taken. The weapon has access to a lot of effects that do well in both PvE and PvP. New Region: Brimstone Sands
This is going to be the biggest zone in the game. The Devs say that the amount of quests and extra content is almost equal to the three previous existing zones. It includes a new storyline and Expedition, The Ennead. The Ennead is a challenge situated in the heart of the Brimstone Sands and it is full of new mechanics, traps, and puzzles.
The Brimstone Sands Storyline will start from different zones depending on the player’s current faction. For Syndicate, this will be Shattered Mountain; for Marauders, this will be Ebonscale Reach; and for Covenant, they’ll start the quest from Great Cleave.
Combat Additions and Balancing
This time some weapon changes are mostly connected to bug fixing and correcting tooltips still there are a couple of minor changes for Runeglass Gems and Heartrune Skills.
Runeglass Gems allow you to craft Gems that have fixed secondary effects based on the components used. These effects provide offensive bonuses like damage, lifesteal, Elemental DoT, Stamina Recovery, and Mana Recovery effects.
Heartrunes are a new gear slot that players will unlock during the Brimstone Sands Questline. These are powerful runes that provide players with various “Ultimate” skills that can be used with weapon skills. These skills provide damage and offer additional utility.
- Cannon Blast – summons a Cannon to fire a long-range shot that deals 100% of Rune Damage;
- Detonate – charge yourself with explosive energy for 3 seconds and then detonate, dealing 100% Rune Damage to enemies around 5 meters;
- Heretics Fall – fly up into the Air then fall back down to the ground, staggering and dealing 100% rune damage to enemies within 3 meters. Press the button again while in the air to slam to the ground;
- Stone Form – harden yourself with layers of stone, remove all CC and grant yourself an immunity to both stagger and CC for 5 seconds;
- Grasping Vines – summon vines around you that deal 100% rune damage and root enemies within 4 meters for 3 seconds.
Ennead Expedition
The Ennead Expedition is a new 5-man level 65 expedition that Brimstone Sands Update brings to the game. It is located in the Pyramid of Akhet. The Ennead is an end-game expedition and part of the Expedition Mutation Rotation.
To enter the expedition one party member needs to be at the entrance. Don’t forget that there is a limit on the number of expedition runs for players:
- 15 Normal Expedition runs per player per day or 105 per week, per player
- 25 Mutated Expedition runs per week

Fresh Start Worlds
Before the Brimstone Sands release, devs start new servers for players who want to start all over again. It is already known that all coins, loot, and characters must originate in these servers. What that means is no old-school and overgeared Adventurers can transfer into any of the new worlds.
