4.9What Are Celestial Dungeons
Mists of Pandaria Classic introduces the Celestial Dungeons system — a successor to Titan Rune Dungeons or Elemental Rune Dungeons. While technically still revolving around dungeons, MoP Classic Celestial Mode acts more as a replacement for the LFR feature that was present at MoP’s original launch but is not available in the Classic version.
Celestial Dungeons are a solid source of quality gear, including pre-raid options, along with other valuable rewards worth chasing. Currently, the following dungeons are available in Celestial Mode in MoP Classic:
- Scholomance;
- Temple of the Jade Serpent;
- Stormstout Brewery;
- Shado-Pan Monastery;
- Gate of the Setting Sun;
- Mogu’shan Palace;
- Siege of Niuzao Temple;
- Scarlet Monastery;
- Scarlet Halls.
Running these dungeons will eventually become a part of your daily routine, so prepare yourself for long runs. Alternatively, you can ask our team to complete any number of Celestial Dungeon runs for you to secure that all rewards are yours without any fuss.
Celestial Dungeon Release Date
Celestial Dungeons will open for players on August 12, 2025. Loot tied to each raid will become available two weeks after that raid’s release. The launch of Celestial Mode is directly tied to the release of major activities, such as the Mogu’Shan Vaults raid.
Keep in mind that Tier 14 gear tokens will not be available right away. Here’s the full schedule for all tokens and items connected to Celestial Dungeons in MoP Classic:

How to Access Celestial Dungeon
Good news: to enter Mists of Pandaria Classic Celestial Mode dungeons, you no longer need to find and interact with a specific object (such as the Hourglass). All you have to do is open the Dungeon Finder, set the type to Random Mists of Pandaria Celestial, choose your role, and hit Find Group.
Celestial dungeons are not the only instances that you can focus on. Challenge mode is also a popular activity with the possibility of becoming a true Challenge Master. Our team can get you this valuable and rare achievement, and you’ll enjoy being one of the rare players to get it.
Celestial Dungeon Buffs
Celestial Dungeon changes in MoP Classic include the requirement to choose one of the available buffs, known as Blessings. There are 4 types of Blessings from the August Celestials in Mists of Pandaria Classic:
- Blessing of Yu’lon (Caster DPS);
- Blessing of Niuzao (Tank);
- Blessing of Chi-Ji (Healer);
- Blessing of Xuen (Melee/Ranged DPS).

Healing spells and abilities recite a blazing song around your ally that increases their Movement Speed by 50%, heals nearby allies for 30000 and burns nearby enemies for 30000 Fire damage every 2 seconds for 10 sec. This can occur once every 30 seconds. |

Celestial Dungeon Empowered Enemies
Don’t think you’re the only one with a strong buff within a dungeon. Enemies in MoP Classic Celestial Mode are also empowered with the Dominion of the Empress buff. They gain damage increase by 25%, and health increase by 100%. Additionally, boss attacks have a chance to summon a lieutenant of Grand Empress Shek’zeer.
Celestial Dungeon Daily Quests
Celestial Mode in Mists of Pandaria is as challenging as it is rewarding, offering plenty of prizes you can purchase with its special currency. Completing daily quests within Celestial Dungeons will earn you the currency needed for your rewards. The reward for completing the Daily Quest is: 45 Gold, 60 Silver, 3 August Stone Fragment, and 150 Valor Points.
You can pick up daily quests from Challenger Soong at the Summer Terrace if you’re playing Alliance, or from Challenger Wuli at the Golden Terrace if you’re playing Horde.

Celestial Dungeon Rewards
MoP Classic Celestial Dungeon rewards include all types of loot, currency, tokens, and more. Rewards are the main reason you’ll be running these dungeons in the first place. It’s also worth mentioning how the Celestial Dungeon loot system works. Celestial Dungeons open two weeks after Mogu’shan Vaults launch, with each new raid adding more loot two weeks after its release.
At first, players can buy LFR-level Mogu’shan Vaults gear, Satchels of Celestial Chance with Lesser Charms and rare MoP mounts, plus Commendations and Valor Points. As new raids arrive, the NPC’s stock grows with fresh Raid Finder gear, while older rewards remain available for collectors.

Celestial Dungeon Currency
The main currency of Mists of Pandaria Classic Celestial Dungeons is August Stone Fragment. To earn it, you’ll need to complete a variety of activities, including daily quests, running dungeons, and finishing your first Celestial Dungeon of the day. The main source of the MoP Classic Celestial Dungeon currency comes from daily quests.

August Stone Fragment Vendor Location
In Mists of Pandaria Classic, both factions have an Avatar of the August Celestials vendor, located on a high balcony in their main hub, next to the Chamber of Wisdom for Horde and the Chamber of Enlightenment for Alliance.
The vendor sells 476–483 item-level gear marked as Celestial, plus Tier 14 tokens, in exchange for August Stone Fragments. There’s no cap on fragments, and you can buy Satchel of Stone Fragments to transfer them between characters, making alt gearing much easier.
