HOME How to get OSRS How to Get Void Osrs

Void Knight equipment is one of OSRS’s most versatile armour sets — a 10% accuracy and damage bonus for Melee, Ranged, or Magic when the full set is worn. Getting it means grinding Pest Control for Void Commendation Points, which takes time but no GP. Most mid-level accounts target Void as their first major armour milestone.

  • Purchased with Void Commendation Points from the Void Knight Commendation Officer on Void Knight Outpost
  • Full basic set (top, robe, gloves, one helm) costs 850 points
  • Fastest travel to Pest Control: Grouping interface minigame teleport (free, 20-minute cooldown)
  • Minimum combat level 40 for Novice boat; 70 for Intermediate; 100 for Veteran
  • Elite Void upgrade available after completing the Hard Western Provinces Diary

How to Get Void in OSRS

Void Knight equipment is obtained exclusively through Pest Control — a team minigame on Void Knight Outpost, an island off the south-west coast of Feldip Hills. All Void pieces are purchased from the Void Knight Commendation Officer using points earned from winning Pest Control games.

To get started:

  1. Travel to Void Knight Outpost via the free Minigame Teleport in the Grouping interface
  2. Board the appropriate boat (Novice 40+, Intermediate 70+, Veteran 100+)
  3. Defend the Void Knight from Penance monsters for approximately 5 minutes per game
  4. Earn 2–4 Commendation Points per win depending on boat tier
  5. Purchase Void pieces from the Officer once you have enough points

ℹ️ Veteran boat gives 4 points per win and fills fastest because it attracts the most active players. If your combat level is 100+, always use Veteran — the point rate is double Novice for the same game time.

Void Knight Equipment Costs

ItemPoints CostEffect
Void Melee Helm200Required for Melee set bonus
Void Mage Helm200Required for Magic set bonus
Void Ranger Helm200Required for Ranged set bonus
Void Knight Top250Shared across all styles
Void Knight Robe250Shared across all styles
Void Knight Gloves150Shared across all styles

A single-style setup (one helm + top + robe + gloves) costs 850 points. Buying all three helms plus the shared pieces costs 1,250 points total. At Veteran boat pace (4 points/win, ~5 min/game), 850 points takes roughly 27–30 hours of active Pest Control. Using a dedicated Pest Control FC cuts this time noticeably through faster game starts and organised play.

Which Void Pieces to Buy First

The optimal purchase order depends on your primary combat style:

  • Ranged Void first — most versatile across bossing content; Void Ranger Helm + Top + Robe + Gloves
  • Magic Void second — valuable for Zulrah, Barrows, and many Slayer tasks
  • Melee Void third — less commonly used since Melee has better armour alternatives at similar costs

Buy all three helms eventually — the shared pieces (Top, Robe, Gloves) work with any helmet, so getting all three helms later only costs 600 additional points total once the shared pieces are already purchased.

If you want to speed through the Pest Control grind, our OSRS minigame boosting services run organised Pest Control sessions with experienced teams.

OSRS Void FAQ

Below are the most common questions about obtaining Void Knight equipment in OSRS.

How Long Does It Take to Get Full Void in OSRS?

Getting one complete Void set (850 points) takes roughly 27–35 hours at Veteran boat pace depending on team quality and wait times. Getting all three helmets as well (1,250 points total) adds another 10–15 hours. Many players spread this across multiple sessions over several weeks.

Does Void Give a Bonus Without the Full Set?

No — the Void Knight set bonus (10% accuracy and damage) only activates when the full set is worn: matching helm + top + robe + gloves. Individual pieces have standard defensive stats but no bonus. Don’t equip partial Void expecting any benefit.

Is Void Better Than Bandos or Armadyl?

Void gives a flat 10% accuracy and damage bonus at the cost of defensive stats. Bandos (Melee) and Armadyl (Ranged) provide significantly higher defensive bonuses and their own damage boosts. In most end-game scenarios, Armadyl outperforms Void Ranged due to higher Ranged Strength. Void wins at content where its offensive bonus matters more than survivability — typically mid-level bossing and Slayer.

Can Ironmen Get Void Knight Equipment?

Yes — Pest Control is fully accessible to Ironmen and is one of their best armour options before getting Armadyl or Bandos. The grind is identical to regular accounts.

Can You Buy Void Equipment from Other Players?

No — Void Knight equipment is non-tradeable and account-bound once purchased. Every player must earn their own set through Pest Control. There are no shortcuts via the Grand Exchange.

Void Knight armour rewards the time investment with a versatile set that works across Ranged, Magic, and Melee content — a solid foundation before committing to style-specific BiS gear.
