Black Ops Tribute Release

The Call of Duty Black Ops Tribute event will start on April 17, 2025 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, Zombies, or Call of Duty: Warzone. The event will last for two weeks, during which you can participate in all activities, gain XP, and earn rewards. The Black Ops Tribute event is designed to honor the rich history of the Black Ops franchise and thank the most dedicated BO6 players.

• Earn XP to Progress — Earn XP in any game mode to progress the Black Ops Tribute event;
• Loyalty Rewards — Players who own Black Ops 6 have access to extra rewards;
• New Special Weapon — Complete the event to unlock the new Nail Gun Special Weapon, and Black Ops 6 owners get a new John Black Ops Operator.

📌Note: If you only play free-to-play Warzone, you will not be able to get some of the rewards.

Black Ops Tribute Challenges

You can participate in a wide range of CoD Black Ops Tribute event activities, but your main task will be to gain XP points in order to receive rewards. There are ten Black Ops Tribute challenges in total, including seven BO6 exclusive challenges with related rewards. As mentioned above, you need to gain XP points in order to progress and complete each level of challenge.

Unlocking all rewards in the Black Ops Tribute event requires gaining 670,000 XP in total. By completing XP-based challenges in every mode, you can unlock cosmetics like the Intimidation Tactics sticker and gear up on heavy-hitting equipment like the Death Machine scorestreak.

The most wanted and valuable among the top-tier rewards is the John Black Ops operator and special GobbleGums. These rewards are reserved for BO6 owners only, so you have even more reason to dive in.

How to Complete the Black Ops Tribute Event

First of all, you can participate in Black Ops Tribute by engaging in any of the available game modes and completing XP-gaining challenges to unlock a variety of rewards. The event is structured to be accessible to all players, regardless of their preferred mode of play.​

To join the event, simply log into Black Ops 6 or Warzone during the event period. Navigate to the ‘Events’ tab in the main menu to view the list of available challenges. Each challenge is tied to a specific reward, and progress can be tracked in real time.

How To Unlock John Black Ops Operator

To unlock John Black Ops operator during the Black Ops Tribute event, you need to have Black Ops 6 and complete all 10 challenges during the event.

However, you still have a chance to get John Black Ops operator even if you don’t have BO6. The obligatory requirement for this method is to have the Warzone Season 3 Discord Quest completed by April 11th. As a reward, you should’ve received a free week of Game Pass, redeemable until April 15th. All you need to do is use the Game Pass on April 14–15th, two days before the start of the Black Ops Tribute event. One week of active play will be just enough to get the skin!
