Mages can choose between two powerful Ring Runes. The Rune of Healing Specialization turns Mages into surprising support players by improving their healing abilities. Alternatively, the Rune of Meditation Specialization increases mana regeneration, so Mages can now stay in the fight longer.

Mages can acquire Rune of Healing Specialization by clicking the black book located at Faldir’s Cove, Arathi Highlands, at /way 34.1, 80.5. The entrance is through a tunnel at /way 21, 75, southeast of Stromgarde Keep. Only Mages eligible to use the rune will be able to see it.

How to find Rune of Meditation Specialization for Mages? Look for a small goblin house in the Shimmering Flats, Thousand Needles at /way 80, 77. Inside, you’ll find a small black tome containing the Rune of Meditation. Simply interact with the book to obtain the rune.
Mage Cloak Runes

Mage Cloak Runes provide Mages with a range of powerful offensive and defensive enhancements. These Runes are crafted to augment the Mage’s abilities, allowing for improved damage output, increased survivability, and greater control over their spells.
Arcane Barrage Rune
Arcane Barrage launches multiple missiles at a targeted enemy, inflicting between 622.263 and 761.316 Arcane damage. Additionally, there’s a 20% chance that casting Arcane Barrage will activate the Missile Barrage effect, enhancing the next missile spell.

The Arcane Barrage Rune is a key part of the Greater Friend of the Library quest line, which tasks Mages with locating and reading numerous books scattered across the world.
- Ensure you have completed the requirements for previous Phase Runes in the quest line.

Overheat Rune
Overheat grants the ability for Fire Blast to always result in a critical strike. Additionally, it can be cast simultaneously with other spells and is not subject to the global cooldown, enhancing both its flexibility and impact in combat.

To locate the Overheat Rune, you need to find four Novice Frost Mages in each of the following fields in Western Plaguelands:
- Felstone Field: Inside the house at coordinates /way 36.8, 54.7
- Gahrron’s Withering: At coordinates /way 64.2, 57.7
- The Writhing Haunt: At coordinates /way 53.3, 64.5
- Dalson’s Tears: At coordinates /way 45.1, 51.9
Steps to Acquire the Rune:
- Use fire spells to unfreeze the Novice Frost Mage, making sure not to kill them.
- After unfreezing, decurse the Novice Frost Mage.
- Speak with the Novice Frost Mage to obtain the necessary pages.
From each of the four Mages, you’ll receive Torn Spell Notes. Combine the pages from these Mages to form the Overheat Rune:

Frozen Orb Rune
Frozen Orb deploys a rapidly moving orb of ice that travels forward for 16 seconds. Every second, the orb deals 156.435 Frost damage to all enemies in its path and applies a chilling effect that slows their movement speed by 30%. The first instance of damage from the orb also significantly slows its movement and guarantees the activation of the Fingers of Frost effect, potentially leading to further powerful Frost attacks.

Each cast of Balefire Bolt increases the damage of your next cast by 10% and decreases your Spirit by 10% for 30 seconds, stacking up to 10 times. If your Spirit reaches 0 as a consequence, you will immediately perish. This spell’s effectiveness is checked against the lowest of the target’s Arcane and Fire resists.

Rewind Time Rune
Rewind Time instantly heals all damage taken over the last 5 seconds to the Mage’s current target with Temporal Beacon. This Rune is ineffective on targets that did not have a Temporal Beacon 5 seconds ago.

Rewind Time is sold by Grizzby in Ratchet. To purchase the Rune, complete the following pre-quests.
- Shredder Turbochargers: Collect 16 Shredder Turbochargers from Venture Co. Shredders in the Windshear Crag, Stonetalon Mountains
- Dark Iron Ordinance: Acquire 20 Dark Iron Ordinance by vanquishing Dark Iron Insurgent in North Loch Modan or Dark Iron Rifleman and other Dark Iron dwarves in North Wetlands.
- Fish Oil: Gather 24 Fish Oil from murlocs in Hillsbrad or Wetlands, or acquire them through the Auction House.
Living Bomb Rune
Living Bomb transforms the target into a Living Bomb, taking (* 85 / 100 * 4) Fire damage over 12 sec. After 12 sec or when the spell is dispelled, the target explodes, dealing (* 171 / 100) Fire damage to all enemies within 10 yards.

- Alliance: Dropped from Stonesplinter Seer in Loch Modan.
To find the Stonesplinter Seer, head to the big island in the lake in Loch Modan. There, you will encounter many Stonesplinter Seers. Defeat them until one of them drops the Living Bomb Rune.
- Horde: Complete the Wand to Bethor Questline.
The Wand to Bethor Questline is a series of quests that starts on Fenris Isle in Silverpine Forest. The final quest in the chain is Wand to Bethor. Upon completing it, you will be rewarded with the Living Bomb Rune.
Arcane Blast Rune
Arcane Blast empowers the Mage to unleash a powerful Arcane Blast at their target. This Rune deals (* 453 / 100) to (* 527 / 100) Arcane damage with a 2.5-second cast time. Each time you cast Arcane Blast, the spell damage and healing of all other Arcane spells increases by 15%, and the mana cost of Arcane Blast increases by 175%. The effect stacks up to 4 times and lasts 6 seconds or until any other Arcane damage or healing spell is cast.

- Defeat Wrathtail Naga in the Zoram Strand until they drop Naga Manuscript.
- Follow the riddle in the book to find three crystals along the Zoram Strand.
- Cast Arcane Explosion at each crystal.
- Use the book to learn Arcane Blast.
