Best Professions Pair with Engineering

Since WoW Classic Fresh Engineering is so much of a jack-of-all-trades primary profession, it’s really all about picking the profession to complement your game, smoothing and seamlessly integrating it within.

A logical second profession choice to go hand-in-hand with Engineering would have to be Mining. Engineers greatly depend on ores, bars, and other mined materials in creating their various gadgets and bombs. It lets you farm your materials instead of needing to spend money purchasing them off the Auction House in bulk, saving you money overall – gold.

Mining will provide you with the material you will need to level Engineering — Copper, Tin, Iron, and Thorium. Also, it makes it much easier just to gather while exploring.

If you don’t want to spend time gathering ore to level up your Mining profession, we can help! Our players can assist you in quickly and easily reaching your desired level of mastery while you take care of other things.

Artisan Engineering Trainer

In WoW Classic Buzzek Bracketswing is an Artisan Engineering trainer located in Gadgetzan, Tanaris. He can train you in all levels of the profession, from Apprentice to Artisan. Additionally, he offers the following schematics:

Crafting Engineering Items

To craft most engineering items in WoW Classic Fresh, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps:

  1. Find an Anvil – You must be near an anvil to craft most items;
  2. Gather Materials or buy them at the Auction House – Make sure you have all the required crafting materials and tools in your bags, not in your bank;
  3. Open Your Spellbook;
  4. Find the Engineering Skill;
  5. Select a Recipe you want to craft;
  6. Craft the Item – Once you’ve gathered all the materials.

Engineering primarily requires metal bars, which are mined as ore and then smelted by miners. However, some recipes also require additional resources like cloth, leather, and herbs. Many engineering schematics also need you to craft smaller components like screws or tubes, which are then used in more advanced recipes. For example, the Copper Modulator requires a Handful of Copper Bolts, which you’ll need to craft separately.

Engineering Tools

Unlike some other professions in WoW Classic, engineering requires specific tools in your inventory to craft certain items. If you don’t have the necessary tools, your crafting won’t work, even if you have the materials. Here is a list of tools:

Engineering Specializations

In WoW Classic Fresh, Engineering offers a specialization system, which lets you choose a specific path to focus on once you reach a certain skill level. Specializing in one of these areas unlocks unique recipes and provides additional bonuses to your engineering crafts. Gnomish Engineering or Goblin Engineering are the available specializations for engineering.

Gnomish Engineering Specialization

Gnomish Engineering in WoW Classic is all about creating high-tech gadgets, often with unpredictable and sometimes dangerous results.

While these inventions can occasionally backfire in spectacular fashion, the power and utility they provide are well worth the risk. After all, where would the fun be without a little bit of chaos? Just be cautious — using a Gnomish Battle Chicken to help you in combat might be great, but having it blow up in your face is something better left to non-Hardcore players.

Gnomish Engineering Questline

Here is a list of quests in WoW Classic to become a master of Gnomish Engineering for both the Horde trainer and the Alliance trainer, given by Tinkmaster Overspark in Ironforge (for the Alliance) and Oglethorpe Obnoticus in Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale (for the Horde):

Changing Your Engineering Specialization

If you decide you’re not happy with your WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Engineering specialization, there is a way to switch between Gnomish and Goblin Engineering. However, it comes at a cost, and there are some steps to follow. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. You’ll need to completely unlearn Engineering, which means you’ll lose all of your current schematics.
    • Open your skill menu.
    • Find your Engineering skill and click on it.
    • Unlearn it.
    • This will remove Engineering from your character.
  2. Find a trainer and re-learn Engineering.
  3. Level of Engineering back to 225.
  4. Go to Tanaris and find the gnome Narain Soothfancy in Steamwheedle Port.
  5. Inside his house, you can find a  “Book “Soothsaying for Dummies”, use it and the book allows you to change your previous specialization to a new one.
  6. Find a new Engineering specialization trainer and pick up a new quest.
