In WoW Season of Discovery, Demon Fall Canyon offers unique challenges that cater to various class strengths. Here’s a breakdown of the best classes for Demon Fall Canyon, taking into account their abilities to handle the environment and encounters.
DPS Classes
- Assassination Rogues are good at burst damage to a single target, which is very useful when fighting bosses such as Zilbagob and Grimroot. Due to their high mobility, they can easily dodge mechanics like Kerosene Kick and Corrupted Tears. Also, their interrupts and crowd control are useful for controlling abilities like Gloom and Tender’s Rage.
- Fire Mages are good at dealing AoE and single target damage which makes them useful in dealing with bosses and their packs. They can deal with Poisoned Saplings and Dread Lashers effectively. They can also avoid many of the dungeon’s damaging mechanics such as Nether Nova and Flaming Spinning Blades because they can maintain distance.
- Elemental Shamans have great AoE and burst damage, which is crucial for handling the adds such as Dread Fungus and Dread Lashers. Their totems and Chain Lightning are good for keeping up the damage and group utility during the heavy hitting parts.
Healer Classes
- Restoration Shamans have access to Chain Heal and Healing Rain which is crucial for healing the group AoE damage from abilities such as Destructor’s Devastation and Nether Nova. Their totems are quite useful, providing a means of support during periods of high damage taken by the group.
- Discipline Priests are good at avoiding damage through their shields and have good single target and AoE healing. Their utility is important for fights with heavy burst damage, like Kerosene Kick and Chaos Chopper, and can assist with the damage from Dread Lasher adds.
- Restoration Druids have strong HoTs that allow the group to be constantly healed during long encounters. The fact that they can easily shift between single target and AoE healing is useful when dealing with the changing damage distribution.
Tank Classes
- Protection Paladins are also great at AoE threat control, which is important when dealing with multiple adds as in Dread Fungus. Due to their ability to heal themselves and have powerful defensive cooldowns, they are suitable for tanking abilities from bosses such as Diathorus the Seeker and Zilbagob.
- Protection Warriors deal good amounts of single-target damage and are able to focus on bosses such as Grimroot and Diathorus the Seeker. Their defensive skills come in handy during phases that are damaging such as Destructor’s Devastation and Berserker Charge.
- Feral Druids offer good single-target threat and reasonable AoE threat. Due to their ability to move around the map, they are useful for dealing with the mechanics in Demon Fall Canyon, such as kiting Grimroot during Tender’s Rage and handling add control during Summon Dread Lasher.
