Cooking Trainers Locations in WoW Classic
To start learning Cooking in WoW Classic Fresh, you’ll first need to find a profession trainer. Cooking trainers are scattered across Azeroth in villages of major cities, and they are fairly easy to locate. They can also teach you specific Cooking skills:
- At level 5 you can learn Apprentice Cooking for 1 silver.
- To learn Journeyman Cooking you need level 10 and 50 skill of Cooking for 5 silver.

WoW Classic Cooking Requirements for Leveling
Cooking is a useful secondary profession in WoW Classic Fresh. The food you prepare can provide valuable buffs that enhance your character. We’ve chosen the path of leveling Cooking through Fishing, as it’s the cheapest and easiest way to level up your Cooking skill. Additionally, you can level Fishing alongside Cooking to catch the fish you need yourself, or simply buy fish from the Auction House. Don’t forget to buy Mild Spices, Hot Spices, and Soothing Spices to cook dishes, as you won’t be able to prepare them without them.
You can quickly and easily learn Fishing with the help of our professional players, who will save you time so you can make the most of it while your character gains skills.
Also, if you want to cook while traveling, you’ll need Simple Wood and Flint and Tinder. Combining these items lets you create a Basic Campfire, allowing you to cook on the go.

Cooking Levels 1-50
To reach Cooking Skill level 50, you’ll need to:
- Learn the basics of Cooking;
- Buy the recipe Brilliant Smallfish;
- Cook 50 Raw Brilliant Smallfish;
At level 10 of your character, you can upgrade your skill of Cooking to Journeyman.
Cooking Levels 50-100
To reach Cooking Skill level 100, you’ll need to:
- Buy the recipe Longjaw Mud Snapper;
- Cook 50 Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper;
Continue gathering fish as you level.
Cooking Levels 100-150
To reach Cooking Skill level 150, you’ll need to cook Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish:

You can learn Expert Cooking at 150.
Cooking Levels 150-175
To reach Cooking Skill level 175, you’ll need:

WoW Classic Cooking Skill Improvement
If you have extra pieces of meat, you can cook them to speed up your skill progression in WoW Classic Fresh Cooking. For example, Charred Wolf Meat and Roasted Boar Meat are great for leveling up your early Cooking skill.
The higher the mob level and the resources you gather from it, the better the dishes you can prepare. For example, Dry Pork Ribs and Strider Stew are excellent for leveling from skill level 50 to 100.
As you progress through the levels, you’ll move between different locations and hunt high-level mobs, which will help you quickly develop your Cooking skill.
Special Food
There’s also a special dish that only Rogues can cook: Thistle Tea. This tea can help you level your WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Cooking skill from 60 to 140. It’s made from Swiftthistle and Refreshing Spring Water. This tea is especially useful for Rogues, as it instantly restores their stamina to 100% with a 5-minute cooldown. To obtain it, you need to complete the Mission: Possible But Not Probable quest for the Horde, and Klaven’s Tower for the Alliance.
WoW Classic Getting Expert Cooking
To become an Expert Cook in WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Edition, you need to reach Cooking level 225 and purchase an Expert Cookbook. This book can be bought from Cooking Supply vendors or the Auction House for one gold coin.

Wulan — Horde vendor in Desolace (26,69).
WoW Classic Getting Artisan Cooking
To obtain Artisan Cooking, you’ll need to reach character level 35 and Cooking level 225. At that point, a quest will become available I Know A Guy… from Daryl Riknussun for the Alliance, and To Gadgetzan You Go! from Zamja for the Horde. That Artisan Cooking quest will send you to Gadgetzan. You’ll need the following items to get Artisan Cooking, you can obtain these items either from the Auction House or by defeating mobs:
- Giant Egg x12 — which you can get from Firebirds in Tanaris;
- Zesty Clam Meat x10 — you can easily get this from the northeast coast of Tanaris;
- Alterac Swiss x20 — you can get it from the vendor.
Once you find Dirge Quikcleave, simply turn in the quest to him, and you’ll become the owner of the Artisan Cooking skill.
