Mists of Pandaria Pre-Patch Release Date
The Mists of Pandaria Classic launch is set for July 1, 2025. It will bring various MoP features and content ahead of the full expansion release. MoP pre-patch is a great way for players to level their Pandaren and gear up in preparation for the expansion release. It also gives returning players a chance to get familiar with updated systems and catch up before the full content unlocks on July 21st.
What’s New in Mists of Pandaria Pre-Patch
With WoW MoP Pre-Patch, players will gain access to various new additions ahead of the full release. These additions include the new Monk class, the Pandaren race, revamped talent and glyph systems, Pet Battles, and the first Scenario, Theramore’s Fall.
MoP Pre-Patch New Class
WoW MoP Monk is a flexible class that uses a unique resource system called Chi, alongside Energy or Mana depending on specialization.
Monks can fill all three roles: Brewmaster for tanking, Mistweaver for healing, and Windwalker for DPS.
Main features of each spec include:
- Brewmaster: A mechanic unique to Monk tanks is called Stagger. It turns a portion of the damage you receive into a damage-over-time effect instead. Brewmasters can also cleanse staggered damage, essentially nullifying it;
- Mistweaver: This spec combines traditional healing spells with Chi-based abilities for powerful bursts;
- Windwaker: This spec relies on fast-paced combos using both Energy and Chi.
When you create a Monk, your character will start at level 1 and have access to their own starting abilities and resources right from the beginning. Here is the list of races that can be Monks in Mists of Pandaria Classic.
| Alliance | Horde |
|---|---|
| Human | Orc |
| Gnome | Undead |
| Dwarf | Tauren |
| Night Elf | Troll |
| Draenei | Blood Elf |
| Pandaren | Pandaren |
MoP Pre-Patch New Race
A new race will become available with the launch of MoP pre-patch – Pandaren. They are a neutral race with their own unique starting zone – the Wandering Isle. After completing the starting quests in this zone, players will be able to choose between the Alliance and Horde as their faction.
Pandaren have their own unique racial abilities, which include:
| Pandaren Racial Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Bouncy | Take only half the damage from falling |
| Epicurean | Receive double stat bonuses from the Well Fed buff |
| Inner Peace | Earn twice as much rested experience |
| Gourmand | Receive +15 points to your cooking stat |
| Quaking Palm | CC ability, incapacitating your opponent for 4 seconds |
Thinking about making a Pandaren, but are not sure which class to pick? Here we have also prepared a list of all the classes available to Pandaren starting with pre-patch:
- Warrior;
- Hunter;
- Rogue;
- Priest;
- Shaman;
- Mage;
- Monk.
Additionally, there are no special requirements for creating a Pandaren character. Simply make one once the pre-patch goes live! If you are interested in playing a Pandaren but don’t want to bother with leveling one yourself, we offer a solution. Our leveling services will handle the leveling while you can enjoy this new Classic expansion without stressing out about grinding XP yourself!
Mists of Pandaria Classic Pre-Patch Scenarios
The pre-patch introduces a new type of instanced content – MoP Classic Scenarios. These are short, story-driven, 3-player instances without any specific role requirements (like tank or healer). You can think of them as more story-driven dungeons.
The first scenario that will be introduced in MoP pre-patch is called Theramore’s Fall. The interesting gimmick of this scenario is the fact that it offers different experiences depending on the faction of your character.
For example, while Horde players carry out the bombing of Theramore, Alliance players will witness its aftermath. Completing the Scenario rewards various items, including gear and toys. Here is the list of the rewards you can get from Theramore’s Fall:
- Gear: 384 item level items;
- Cosmetic: Theramore Tabard;
- Pet: Mini Mana Bomb.
Pet Battles in MoP Pre-Patch
Another big feature that players won’t have to wait for a full release for is MoP Pet Battles. They become fully accessible in the pre-patch, allowing players to level, train, and capture battle pets across Azeroth. Pets can reach level 25 and belong to one of nine types, each with its own passive traits.
As pets gain levels, they unlock new combat abilities, up to six total, with three active at a time. Wild pets are scattered across zones, starting from level 1 in beginner areas and scaling to level 25.
This system adds a collection and progression element to non-combat companions, giving long-time pet collectors something new to do. MoP pre-patch is the best time to get into pet collecting if you have been interested in it before.
New Talents in Mists of Pandaria Classic Pre-Patch
One massive change that will affect every player with the release of the Mists of Pandaria pre-patch is a complete change of the talent system. This overhaul will affect all classes and completely change the way talents work.
Instead of the older tree format, MoP talents will be presented in a 7-row grid, with one choice per row unlocked every 15 levels. These talents are shared across all specializations. This should give players more flexibility without being locked into one spec’s tree. Talents can still be changed using Vanishing Powder.
Another hugely revamped system that will be released with the pre-patch is Glyphs. Prime Glyphs have been completely removed from the game, with many former primes becoming Major Glyphs, which now have a direct impact on gameplay.
Minor Glyphs are now mostly cosmetic or provide convenience effects instead of affecting gameplay.
This covers the core systems and features coming in the Mists of Pandaria Classic pre-patch. Whether you’re planning to roll a new Monk or collect pets for battling, this is the perfect time to jump back in and get ready for Pandaria’s full release!
