The drop chance is 0.3%, meaning that on average, to see it drop just once, you will have to kill Sha of Anger 3000 times. Combine this with the fact that this mount can be attempted only once a week per character, and you get one of the hardest mounts to get your hands on.
Due to the low drop chance and limited attempts, the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent is considered the top prestige mount of the expansion. Farming Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent requires dedication, tons of alts, and a whole lot of patience.
