Mogu’Shan Vaults Rewards
Despite being the entry raid of MoP Classic, Mogu’shan Vaults offers substantial rewards for max-level players. Bosses drop ilvl 489 gear on Normal and ilvl 502 gear on Heroic, all of which are Epic (purple-quality) items. This includes armor pieces for various slots and powerful weapons or trinkets, which can significantly boost your character. Below we have a table that summarizes Mogu’shan Vaults loot item levels by difficulty:
| Difficulty | Loot Item Level | Gear Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 489 | Epic |
| Heroic | 502 | Epic |
Aside from gear, you can get the following items from the Mogu’Shan Vaults raid in MoP Classic:
- Sigil of Power — can drop from any boss;
- Sigil of Wisdom — can drop from any boss;
- Reins of the Astral Cloud Serpent — drops from Elegon.
Each boss will drop a certain number of loot items appropriate to raid size (e.g., 2 items in 10-player, 5 items in 25-player, plus Gold). MoP Classic uses the classic loot system (group loot/master looter), as Personal Loot is not in effect. This means competition for items can be fierce — some guilds use DKP or Loot Council systems to distribute the coveted pieces.
If you’re aiming for high-ilvl gear but you think you’ll be left empty-handed, we are here to help. Let our pros handle the raid Gearing, ensuring that you will get a raid set and enjoy the game.

Mogu’Shan Vaults Location
Mists of Pandaria Classic Mogu’shan Vaults entrance can be found at the Mogu’shan Terrace in northeast Kun-Lai Summit, above the Zouchin Province. The approximate in-game coordinates are around /way 74.0, 17.5 at the top of a long staircase guarded by stone statues. To reach the raid, you can take a flying mount or flight path to nearby hubs and then ride to the entrance.
Here’s how to get to Mogu’Shan Vaults in Mists of Pandaria Classic:
- Nearest Flight Paths: One Keg (Kun-Lai Summit) or the Temple of the White Tiger. From there, head northeast toward Mogu’shan Terrace;
- Travel Tip: High-level characters can fly directly to the terrace. Lower-level characters will need flight unlocked in Pandaria.
- Summoning Stone: A meeting stone is located right in front of the entrance for grouping convenience.
Because mounts are usable in most of Kun-Lai Summit, you can ride all the way up the terrace stairs. Be prepared to clear a few level 90 elite mogu guards if they are present outside. Still catching up to level 90 while everyone else is raiding? No worries, our team can handle the Power Leveling, so you can start your journey right at the Vault gates.

Mogu’Shan Vaults Bosses
Mists of Pandaria Classic Mogu’shan Vaults contains six bosses, each with unique mechanics that test different skills of raiders, from their ability to handle mob packs to single-target focus. In order, the bosses are:
- The Stone Guard;
- Feng the Accursed;
- Gara’jal the Spiritbinder;
- The Spirit Kings;
- Elegon;
- Will of the Emperor.
As of Phase 1, no major mechanics have been changed for MoP Classic, so strategies will feel familiar to veterans.
Each boss encounter is full of unique mechanics and requires a good understanding of the strategy. Sometimes, knowing the strategy is a life-saving thing, especially if your raid group is not coordinated well or inexperienced. Further in this guide, you will find a brief overview of each boss and a few strategic tips for each role — Tank, Healer, and DPS.
And if you are still not prepared for the raid, but don’t want to miss a minute, ask our team for Monkey Runs — the fastest leveling option, which will allow you to be fully prepared for the raid on the day it opens its doors.
The Stone Guard
The Stone Guard combat features a council fight with four Guardians. They share health and rotate dangerous mechanics, so positioning and coordination of the raid group are key for this boss.
- Tank: Split the Guardians and swap to manage petrification; use cooldowns on Overloads (Amethyst Overload, Cobalt Overload, Jade Overload, Jasper Overload).
- Healer: Watch for Overload raid damage and Jasper Chains healing spikes.
- DPS: Avoid mines, stay chained unless told, and cleave efficiently.
Feng the Accursed
Feng the Accursed is a solo boss that shifts through four weapon phases (Spirit of the Fist, Spirit of the Spear, Spirit of the Staff, Spirit of the Shield), each with unique elemental abilities. The boss fight requires careful use of tank special tools and positioning.
- Tank: Swap at 2 stacks, use Nullification Barrier and Shroud of Reversal wisely; stun during Epicenter.
- Healer: Prepare cooldowns for Arcane Velocity, Draw Flame, and Epicenter.
- DPS: Spread or stack based on phase, handle adds fast, and helps cancel Epicenter.
Gara’jal the Spiritbinder
Gara’jal the Spiritbinder in MoP Classic is a single-target troll boss with heavy Spirit Realm mechanics. You must coordinate with the group entering the spirit world to defeat adds and prevent raid-wide damage.
- Tank: Swap on Voodoo Dolls, kill your Severer of Souls add in Spirit Realm fast, coordinate banish timing.
- Healer: Heal inside Spirit Realm to let players stay in combat, protect Voodoo Dolls targets outside.
- DPS: Kill Shadowy Minions in Spirit Realm fast, return before debuff ends, burn boss at 20%.
The Spirit Kings
A council The Spirit Kings (Qiang, Subetai, Zian, Meng) fought one-by-one on Normal and overlapping on Heroic. Each king leaves a lingering ghost mechanic once defeated.
- Tank: Face the kings away from the raid, pick up adds, and avoid ghost mechanics like Flanking Orders, Massive Attacks, Annihilate, or Impervious Shield.
- Healer: Use CDs on Maddening Shout and ghost phases; prep for rising damage over time.
- DPS: Focus active king, dodge ghost mechanics, kill fixate adds, and save cooldowns for final king.
Elegon
A combat with an iconic star dragon, Elegon, features mob phases, orb-cleaving DPS tests, and a high-pressure final burn phase. This is one of the toughest, yet most beautiful encounters in the raid.
- Tank: Swap on Overcharged stacks, drag Protectors (Materialize Protector, Celestial Protector) out to die safely, help soak if needed.
- Healer: Heal raid after orb explosions, stay mobile, and rotate CDs during final burn.
- DPS: Kill Protectors outside, burst orbs in Phase 2, destroy pillars, and burn the boss under 10%.
Will of the Emperor
Will of the Emperor is a dual-boss encounter vs. Jan-xi and Qin-xi, with constant Devastating Combo mechanics and waves of adds. It includes Titan Gas soft-enrage phases that pressure healers and DPS.
- Tank: Dodge Devastating Combo to earn Opportunistic Strike; handle adds and spread bosses.
- Healer: Focus Emperor’s Courage targets, heal during Titan Gas, and rotate CDs to manage nonstop damage.
- DPS: Prioritize Emperor’s Courages > Emperor’s Rages > Emperor’s Strengths > Boss, dodge ground effects, and manage add waves.
All in all, the Mists of Pandaria Classic Mogu’Shan Vaults raid is an ultimate source of BiS gear for many specializations. It’s not just a raid, but an exciting journey that enhances the MoP storyline. So keep in mind what you’ve learned about the bosses and bravely fight your way to the rewards.
