The Marvel Zombies Mode is one of the most intense PvE events ever added to Marvel Rivals. Released during the Marvel Rivals Halloween 2025 update, this 4-player co-op mode throws you into endless zombie waves, complete with roguelike progression and boss fights against corrupted Marvel icons. In this Marvel Rivals Zombies Mode guide, you’ll learn how the PvE mode works, how to unlock higher difficulties, the best hero builds, boss strategies, and tips to survive the chaos.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Release Date
The Marvel Zombies mode was released on October 23, 2025, during the Halloween event in Marvel Rivals. This limited co-op mode will most likely end in mid-November, but there’s no confirmed date yet.
The mode came during Season 4.5 and has since become a huge hit, offering the right blend of PvE mayhem and roguelike progression. This isn’t a mini-game, but it’s actually a full-blown mode for surviving, complete with bosses, strategies, and increasing difficulty levels. If your goal is to unlock every reward, including traits, Blessings, and more, then grinding is a must when the event comes around.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Gameplay
Zombie Mode is a PvE mode in Marvel Rivals. Instead of fighting players from the opposite team, you get to encounter two powerful bosses — Namor and Wanda. Additionally, you will have to fight zombies. However, it’s not a solo mode, as you will have three teammates on your side.
When playing Marvel Zombies, you choose one of five fixed heroes: Punisher, Blade, Magik, Thor, or Jeff the Land Shark. There are no hero restrictions, so your squad can run four Blades, four Jeffs, etc. After each wave, you earn Moon Power, which you use to buy Blessings (temporary buffs) or invest in your hero’s permanent Traits. Marvel Rivals Zombies Progression
The level progression in Marvel Rivals Zombies is shared across all heroes, so feel free to experiment. However, the traits are unique. If you want to max out a hero fast, focus on this exact hero till you reach the desired level. You’ll have to get a character to level 25 to unlock their Ability upgrades and Traits fully.
Wins speed up the process of leveling, and Challenges are a big part of that. They also reward bonus XP as well as assist in finding cosmetics or Blessing variations, so it’s absolutely worth watching them before each attempt.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Blessings
Between every wave, you’ll see a glowing circle — that’s your upgrade zone. You’ve got less than a minute, so don’t waste time. You should spend all your Moon Power, as saving it rarely pays off. If the Blessings don’t fit your build, it’s always worth hitting Refresh to reroll.
One of the most important mechanics related to Blessings is that after investing 20/60/120 points in one color of trait (Red, Blue, or Yellow), your selected Ability gets an enormously powerful bonus. These are game-changers, especially on harder difficulties. Structure your trait line around them; they’re your gateway to late-game survivability and burst damage. Not sure which blessings fit your playstyle? Our Experienced Coaches will help you craft the perfect setup for any hero.
Marvel Rivals How to Unlock Zombies
Getting into Zombie Mode is super easy: no grinding, no hidden unlocks. As long as you log in between October 23 and November 13, 2025, you’ll see the mode right there in the event menu. Just click “Zombie Mode” and you’re in.
The only thing you’ll need to unlock is the higher difficulties. Everyone starts on Normal, and each new tier unlocks after you beat the one before it:
- Beat Normal to unlock Hard;
- Beat Hard to unlock Extreme;
- Then it’s Nightmare I → II → III → IV.
You can’t skip ahead; even if your squad is cracked, you’ve got to clear them one by one. But that’s part of the fun: your team gets stronger with every run, and the mode throws nastier waves and tougher bosses as you climb.
✏️ Tip: If you’re running with new players or swapping heroes mid-progression, it’s smart to stick with a group that’s on the same unlock level as you. That way you don’t get stuck replaying lower tiers just to carry someone through.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Bosses
There are two main Marvel Rivals bosses in the mode: Zombie Namor and Queen of the Dead Wanda. Both are brutal in their own way, and beating them consistently takes more than just raw damage: you’ll need coordination and smart hero picks.
After surviving several waves of zombies in Marvel Rivals Zombies mode, your team will face these zombie versions of Marvel villains with giant health bars, multiple stages, and mechanics that can instantly kill your entire team if you make one wrong move. If a certain difficulty or boss fight feels brutally unfair, no worries. Our Marvel Rivals Pro Players will clear any tier or boss for you, quickly and hassle-free.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Namor
Namor in Marvel Zombies has a two-phase encounter. During the first phase, he’s completely invulnerable. Your only task here is to take out the squids that he summons. These monsters overwhelm the area and apply pressure, especially to players who stay behind. Take them out fast, or your whole team will be surrounded.
Once the squids are down, Namor enters phase two and can finally be hit. If he gets too far away in melee, reposition is the best decision: ranged allies stay on Namor, while melee fighters like Blade or Magik switch to taking down new squids. Namor loves to stay mobile while fighting, so coordination is key. Keep him in your sights and burn him down before more adds start to pile up.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Wanda
Wanda in Marvel Zombies has three phases, and after each one, she gets stunned, providing a window to unload tons of damage from your team. In her second and third stages, Wanda is encircled by Dark Seals. These orbs chain-stun any champion who gets close to them. As a melee player, this is difficult. If you are not timing movement well, you will get CC-locked and probably die. Blade and Magik players must stay mobile and look for an opening; do not face-tank the seals.
The real danger, however, is her Reality Erasure bar — her secondary meter below her main health meter. It fills up whenever she attacks your team and drains whenever she takes damage. When the bar is full, Wanda casts an ultimate that instantly kills your entire team.
To prevent that, you must dump damage into her as soon as the bar starts to fill. Remember to also shoot the floating crystals on top of her, as they seem to slow her down or debilitate her abilities when destroyed. If your team continues to be aggressive and keep pushing pressure, you can avoid wiping and kill her.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Tips
Here’s a list of useful tips that will help you learn how to complete Zombies matches in Marvel Rivals successfully:
- Spend your Moon Power each round — holding onto it just makes future waves harder.
- Restock the Blessing shop if the selection isn’t ideal for your build — an investment worth making.
- Have one Trait color to gain excellent ability bonuses at 20/60/120 points.
- Game to your hero’s strengths — don’t play off-meta builds that dilute your power.
- Sync roles in the team — pair sustain (Jeff or Thor), ranged DPS, and cleave melee.
- Master boss mechanics — forgetting Wanda’s bar or ignoring Namor’s squids destroys runs in no time.
- Go to the Prepare screen between matches regularly to spend Trait points and gain levels.
- Check daily and weekly Challenges — they accelerate progress and unlock new perks.
- Use team chat or pings to call out Blessing rolls, revive chains, or ult windows.
- Experiment 3x Blade + 1x Jeff for a meta comp that inflicts melting damage to Nightmare bosses with healing and lifesteal.
