Last Epoch Season 3 New Random Encounter
The first major highlight of the new Last Epoch season is The Primal Hunt — a brand-new random encounter. This is your chance to hunt down powerful Rift Beasts either in the Normal campaign or inside the Monolith of Fate. These hunts can trigger completely at random, so you never know when the opportunity will strike.
While exploring Season 3 content, you might stumble upon a Mysterious Rift that transports you into an ancient cave. Inside, you’ll meet Skarven Bloodhorn, the Wengari Hunt Master. He’ll teach you how to track and take down Rift Beasts, earning you unique rewards and rare crafting materials along the way.
Last Epoch Season 3 Rift Beast
The most skilled and deadliest hunters in nature are now part of Last Epoch Beneath Ancient Skies. Rift Beasts are terrifying creatures you can encounter in Rift Beast nests hidden inside the Ancient Caves. An adult Primal Beast is a brutal killing machine, capable of leaving behind dangerous rifts you can fall into, and inside, the beast will be waiting for you.
But there’s more to these creatures than just hunting them for loot. The real twist is the Rift Beast Evolution mechanic. To start an evolutionary lineage, you’ll need to find a Rift Beast Nest with hatchlings. This will let you begin the evolutionary lineage, where you choose which traits your beast will develop, such as Shoulder Vines or a Magma Head. Each trait not only changes the beast’s appearance and abilities, but also affects the loot you can earn when you finally bring it down.
Last Epoch Season 3 Primordial Items
The Primal Hunt in Last Epoch Season 3 also introduces a powerful new gear type — Primordial Items, available as both Primordial Uniques and Primordial Exalted items. These are some of the strongest pieces of equipment you can find this season, offering massive upgrades to your builds.
Primordial Exalted:
- Standard Exalted items enhanced with a T8 Primordial Affix using the new Rune of Evolution;
- T8 affixes can deliver up to 100% more power compared to their T7s.
Primordial Uniques:
- Upgraded versions of regular Unique items;
- Have a chance to roll with Legendary Potential.
Last Epoch Season 3 The Hunt Master
Who might you encounter while roaming the wild, ancient lands of Last Epoch Season 3? Keep an eye out for Skarven Bloodhorn, the Wengari Hunt Master. You can find him at the start of Mysterious Rifts or in The Garden during Chapter 10, where he’s always ready to trade. Skarven’s inventory is packed with valuable goods, including:
