In Fellowship, Gems are essential material that allows you to improve your gear, add stats, and increase your overall performance in dungeons. With our Fellowship Gems Guide, you will learn about gems’ tiers and types, how to get them and where to use them, and what Gem Power Overcapping is.
Fellowship Gems Key Takeaways:
- Gems in Fellowship have four ranks: Small, Large, Splendid, and Flawless, all of which increase Gem Power by step amounts from 120 to 480.
- The Jeweler in Fellowship lets you upgrade, split, and transmute gems using different types of Aether for color changes.
- Gems begin to drop on Contender 7 dungeons and continue up to higher difficulty with higher drop rates up to Eternal 2.
- Sockets appear on non-set gear in the Adept League and grant Gem Power based on the inserted gem’s tier and bonuses.
- There are Ruby, Amethyst, Topaz, Emerald, Sapphire, and Diamond Gems in Fellowship.
- Overcapping Gem Power beyond 3360 gives small stacking primary stat and stamina bonuses to endgame builds.
Fellowship Gems Tiers
Fellowship gems come in four tiers, each contributing to your Gem Power when you level it up. The tiers are Small, Large, Splendid, and Flawless. The higher the tier, the more Gem Power it contributes, starting at 120 for Small gems and up to 480 for Flawless gems.
| Gem Tier | Gem Power |
|---|---|
| Small | 120 |
| Large | 240 |
| Splendid | 360 |
| Flawless | 480 |
📌 Each gem type (Ruby, Amethyst, Topaz, Emerald, Sapphire, and Diamond) has all four tiers, so there is always space to fill out your build.
You’ll only start getting Small gems as dungeon drops, but that’s just the entry point. Combine three gems of the same color and tier to craft the next level up, say, three Small Rubies turn into one Large Ruby. It’s a steady climb early on, but once you’re clearing tougher dungeons regularly, upgrades start to flow almost automatically.
For high-end setups, Flawless gems are where the real power lies. The Gem Power growth amplifies the strength of your passive bonuses and unlocks stronger conditional effects deeper in your gem tree. In a word, gems paired with High ILvl gear can significantly improve your performance.
Fellowship Gem Jeweler
The Gem Jeweler is your go-to place for upgrading, splitting, and transforming gems. Here, you can stack lower-level gems together to make more powerful gems, or break a high-level gem into shards if you need to utilize certain materials to make another color or arrangement.
In the Jeweler, you also have three types of Aether: Rough, Imbued, and Pure. Rough Aether allows you to turn a gem into a random color, Imbued Aether lets you select one of three random colors for transmutation, and Pure Aether allows you to select any of five colors for your gem.
This system makes color-hunting much easier, especially when you’re fine-tuning your stats or chasing a specific synergy in your gem tree. The catch is that you’ll need plenty of duplicate gems to work with, so don’t rush to sell or dismantle your extras.
Fellowship How to Get Gems
There are two primary ways to get Gems in Fellowship:
- Loot gems in dungeons;
- Combine smaller gems to get a gem from a higher tier.
You’ll find your first small gems in low-level dungeons, and once you get enough of them, you can combine three gems into one better gem, e.g., three small gems make up one large gem, and three large gems turn into one splendid gem, and so on.
Fellowship Gem Dungeon Drops
You’ll start getting gem drops when your character is in Contender 7. As we have already mentioned, only Small gems can drop from dungeons themselves. The game requires you to acquire, merge, and upgrade them to higher tiers later.
The higher the dungeon difficulty, the better your drop chances become. Each completed run has a small chance to reward a gem, and that chance scales all the way up to Eternal 2, where gem drops are at their peak. So if you’re farming for upgrades, push those harder tiers.
📌 Since the gems are character-specific, you’re going to have to farm them individually per character.
If you plan to run high-level dungeons and farm gems, you should be well-prepared and have the Best Gear to ensure that you hit the timer. Prepare well before dungeons, or ask our team to get you the best-in-slots for your hero, which you can further improve with gems.
Fellowship Gem Sockets
After you reach the Adept League, gem sockets start appearing on your equipment. You can insert gems into sockets and gain Gem Power based on the gem’s tier. It’s a core aspect of character progression, as every socketed piece adds actual substance to your build. Sockets don’t appear on every item; only non-set gear can roll with them.
Certain socket rolls provide a 35% Bonus Gem Power modifier, which essentially increases any gem that gets put in. For example, an otherwise 120-power Small Gem will yield 162. In addition to this, Legendary items always drop with a socket and a 100% Bonus Gem Power modifier, providing the optimal slot for your best-of-the-best gems.
Fellowship Gem Power and Effects
Your Gem Power represents how much total strength your gems add to your hero. To check it, open your character sheet and switch to the Gem Power tab at the bottom. This panel shows your total Gem Power, the number of gems you’ve collected, and most importantly, which gem effects you’ve unlocked.
Each gem color has its own progression path. Each color path contains two ranks of five effects, totaling ten. Rank 1 gives common bonuses, and Rank 2 replaces them with much superior ones when you invest more Gem Power into that color. Upgrade your RIO to be able to test Rank 1 or Rank 2 gems on practice with a high-skilled team.
Fellowship Ruby Gems
Ruby Gems are meant to increase your primary stats, stamina, and boss performance. They’re all about staying healthy and strong during tough fights. Ruby is the best choice for tanks that require more resilience and stat scaling when fighting bosses.
You can access the first Ruby effects somewhat early on, but their Rank II upgraded versions are where they truly shine.

Fellowship Gem Power Overcapping
Once you have complete access to your gem tracks, then opportunities to advance still remain. Each colored track goes “beyond the terminal node” and stacks at this point; this feature goes under the name Gem Power Overcapping. This process allows a minor but consistent reward to those who still improve beyond the normal level of Gem Power threshold.
At 3360 overall Gem Power, each new point channeled adds an increase of +0.01% to your Primary Stat and Stamina. Although this increase may seem small initially, this progression scales to infinity and accrues quickly on high-end player characters delving into later dungeon levels or end-game iterations of farming.
Fellowship Gems FAQ
If you’re just starting your gem journey in The Fellowship, here are some of the most common questions players ask about how gems, sockets, and Gem Power actually work.
How to Get Gems in Fellowship?
You start earning gems once you reach Contender 7, as dungeon rewards. Early runs only drop Small gems, but higher difficulties, up to Eternal 2, increase both the quantity and quality of drops.
How to Upgrade Gems in Fellowship?
Visit the Gem Jeweler to combine three gems of the same color and tier into one of the next rank. You can also use Aether to transmute gems into different colors for better synergy.
What Gear Can Have Gem Sockets?
Sockets appear on non-set items once you enter the Adept League. Some sockets come with a 35% Bonus Gem Power modifier, and Legendary gear always has a socket with 100% bonus power.
What Does Fellowship Gem Power Do?
Gem Power determines how far you can progress in each gem color’s effect track. The higher your total, the more passive and conditional bonuses you unlock.
Can You Go Beyond The Gem Power Cap?
Yes. After 3360 total Gem Power, every additional point grants +0.01% Primary Stat and Stamina, allowing dedicated players to keep improving their builds indefinitely.
All in all, Fellowship Gems are must-have items if you want to get into high-tier dungeons with skilled parties. The better gem you put into your equipment, the stronger your hero becomes. Use the Jeweler often to improve your gear, run dungeons for smaller gems and combine them to get upgrades.
