Dune Awakening Chapter 2 Features
Chapter 2 represents the next step in Dune: Awakening’s story progression. Picking up after the events of Chapter 1, this free update will continue the story. New and returning characters, and fresh locations, will expand the scope of the story while setting up future conflicts.
Along with the story, players can look forward to several new gameplay additions. Character re-customization is now possible, with Suk doctors and the Bene Tleilax in both Harko Village and Arrakeen. This means you can adjust your character’s appearance after creation.
The desert itself will feel more alive with dynamic encounters, adding new challenges and events to the open world. Combat-oriented players can also pursue new contracts, which provide missions tied to the game’s central hubs. On the customization front, the update introduces five new archetype armor sets, each linked to one of the skill trees, alongside new hairstyles and tattoos to further refine your character’s look.
Here are all of the features you can expect in Chapter 2:
- Continuation of the main story from Chapter 1;
- Character re-customization via Suk doctors and Bene Tleilax;
- Dynamic desert encounters with fresh challenges;
- New contracts based in Harko Village and Arrakeen;
- Five new archetype armor sets;
- Hairstyles and tattoos for character personalization.
With new armor sets and customization, you might want to get more armor to choose from. Our Armor Crafting service is here to help you with just that.
Dune Awakening The Lost Harvest DLC
Releasing alongside the free update is the game’s first paid DLC, The Lost Harvest. Unlike the main story continuation, this DLC offers a standalone storyline centered around a downed spice harvester. Shot out of the sky while under the Miner’s Guild’s care, its cargo may hold secrets capable of changing the balance on Arrakis. It is up to you to recover the wreck and uncover what was lost.
The DLC also expands the game with new gameplay and cosmetic options. Chief among them is the Treadwheel, a nimble desert vehicle with unique animations and upgrade tiers. This addition gives players another way to traverse the sands, though it offers no material advantage over base game vehicles.
In addition, the DLC includes new exploration areas such as three expanded Imperial Testing Stations, which add both lore and environmental challenges.
Cosmetic additions round out the package with two armor skins, four weapon skins, five base decorations, and the Dune Man building set, which allows players to construct bases styled after Arrakis’ workers. A Thumper emote is also included, letting players interact with the desert in a unique way.
The Lost Harvest DLC costs $12.99 as a standalone purchase. However, it is also included in the Season Pass, which can be purchased for $24.99. Players who purchased the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition already have access to the Season Pass, making this DLC part of their bundle.
Dune Awakening Free Trial
For those new to Dune: Awakening, a free trial is currently available. It allows anyone to experience the game from September 11 to September 15. The trial has no limitations and can be enjoyed by all players with no restrictions! The game will also receive a 20% discount until September 22.
Chapter 2 marks a big step forward for Dune: Awakening. On September 9, players will get both the free story update and the Lost Harvest DLC, bringing fresh missions, customization, and a brand-new adventure to chase. It’s the first real expansion of the game’s world since launch, and it sets the stage for what’s coming next on Arrakis.
If you’ve been waiting for more story or just want new reasons to explore the desert, this update has something for you. And if you’re new, the free trial makes it easy to jump in and see what life on Arrakis is like. Either way, the sands are shifting, and now is the perfect time to return!
