Diablo 4 How Boss Powers Work
Each of the 24 bosses has a specific power that you can obtain by defeating that boss. A Boss Power comes with two components — a Main power effect and a Modifier effect:
- If you equip a power in a Main Power slot, you gain its primary effect.
- If you instead equip that power in a Modifier slot, it provides a supporting bonus that strengthens your main power.
📌 Note: Your character can have 1 Main Boss Power and up to 3 Modifier Boss Powers active at once.
Diablo 4 How to Get Boss Powers
Many Diablo IV boss powers can be found in the open world or through events. When you kill a target boss for the first time in Season 8, you’ll acquire that boss’s power for your collection. After that, you can equip it freely with some limits on using duplicate powers simultaneously.
The first ten powers you earn will actually come from the season’s new activity, Apparition Incursions. This was made specifically to involve you in the new system early on. Overall, Boss Powers give you a guided progression through the season, as you chase down bosses to collect all 24 powers. You’ll naturally be improving your character and exploring endgame content.
Boss Powers, as a new seasonal mechanic, gives you space for customization and power progression in Diablo 4 Season 8. And with our guide you’ll be able to explore all 24 Boss Powers and unleash their full potential as you journey through Belial’s Return.
