Borderlands 4 Halloween Event Date

Borderlands 4 Halloween Event Guide

The Horrors of Kairos event went live on October 23, 2025, and will run until November 6, 2025. During this time, players can encounter world boss bubbles, earn limited-time loot, and unlock exclusive cosmetics tied to the event.

Since it’s designed as a seasonal event, Gearbox is expected to bring Horrors of Kairos back in future Halloween periods, following a similar two-week window each year. So if you miss out this time, there’s a good chance it’ll return next spooky season.

How Does Horrors of Kairos Work in Borderlands 4?

During the Horrors of Kairos event, Broderlands 4 world boss bubbles will appear randomly across the map. Jumping into one will spawn a boss encounter, and defeating it grants a chance to earn event-exclusive legendary loot.

The tricky part is that these bubbles don’t spawn consistently. You’ll often need to travel around and recheck known spawn areas until one appears. Entering a new region (when the location name appears on-screen) resets the spawn chance. The event runs from October 23 to November 6, and it’s expected to return in future Halloween seasons.

If you’re farming efficiently, here are the best locations to check for active bubbles:

  • Punitive Manufactorum — Terminus Ridge East (accessible via a small cave along the water);
  • Fishing Spot — Fadefields;
  • Forest north of the Launchpad in Fadefields.

Fast-travel between these points, wait a few minutes, then return to see if a bubble has spawned. It’s a bit of patience-based farming, but the loot makes it worth it. You can also obtain any of the event Legendaries here at Overgear instead.

Horrors of Kairos Best Farming Method

Borderlands 4 Halloween Event Guide

If you’re looking for the most efficient way to farm event rewards during Horrors of Kairos, the best spot is at The Lowering March Ripper drill site in Stoneblood Forest, Terminus Range. This area features the Battle Wagon, which serves as the weekly Big Encore boss, and it’s conveniently close to several Rift Champion world boss spawn points.

The reason this location is so effective is that every time you defeat the Battle Wagon, it refreshes the internal timer that controls Rift Champion spawns. That means after every few kills, there’s a good chance a Rift Champion bubble will appear somewhere nearby. You can then jump straight into that fight for a shot at additional event loot.

To maximize the Borderlands 4 Horrors of Kairos farming efficiency, simply repeat this loop:

  • Kill the Battle Wagon;
  • Check for any Rift Champion bubbles;
  • Defeat the bubbles;
  • Repeat the process.

You can do this as long as you want, making it a steady and consistent method for farming event rewards. Alternatively, the best way to receive all the rewards without grinding them is to ask our team to complete the Horrors of Kairos event for you!

Keep in mind that Murmur and Skully, the event’s exclusive Legendary items, don’t drop directly from Rift Champions. Instead, they’ll appear in the Reward Box that’s automatically sent to your inventory after the fight. Be sure to check the Rewards tab regularly so you don’t miss any event gear.

Borderlands 4 Halloween Event Rewards

The event offers four unique rewards, two of which are earned through SHiFT Codes. Here’s everything you can get:

  • Murmur (Legendary Tediore Assault Rifle) — Guarantees critical hits on enemies below 35% HP.
  • Skully (Legendary Grenade) — Homes in on enemies and fires projectiles midair.
  • Gourd Your Loins (Head Cosmetic) — Redeem via SHiFT Code.
  • Hex Appeal (Weapon Skin) — Redeem via SHiFT Code.

📌 After defeating a world boss, don’t forget to claim your loot from the Rewards tab in your inventory — event rewards don’t automatically drop like normal gear.

As mentioned above, some of the Borderlands 4 Halloween Event rewards can be redeemed via a SHiFT Code. You can copy it below:
