Wow drake of the south wind faq

How do you get drake of the south wind?

To get the Drake of the South Wind mount, you have to complete the Throne of the Four Winds raid and loot its final boss, Al'Akir. The raid itself is fairly short, consisting of only 2-4 bosses, depending how you look at it.

The first boss encounter is the Conclave of Wind, which consists of 3 djinns. This is the trickiest part of the raid, since all three bosses have to be defeated within the 1 minute timer, otherwise they resurrect themselves. But don’t worry, they can be soloed with a high-level character.

Once the Conclave is defeated, you will fight the second and last boss, Al'Akir. Once he is defeated, you get to loot the Heart of Wind and, hopefully, you’ll receive your Drake of the South Wind.

How rare is drake of the south wind?

Drake of the South Wind has a mere 1% drop chance. Since the mount drops from The Throne of the Four Winds raid, the amount of attempts you can do is also pretty limited. You can also use your alts, but otherwise you’re limited to a single run a week per character. It’s pretty common for people to spend hundreds of attempts trying to get 1% mounts, thus you can imagine how much time it might take you to get the Drake of the South Wind from the raid, especially if you only have a single character to play.

On what difficulty does the drake of the south wind drops?

Nor the raid difficulty, nor the raid size have any effect on the mount accessibility or drop chance, so feel free to run the raid in any way you want. In case you’re having any trouble with the raid, you might be better off doing it on Normal. The only difference between the two difficulties you might want to consider is the transmog gear.
