In the First Descendant, Ultimate Weapons might be unlocked only when you reach a specific Mastery Rank for the selected weapon. Mastery Ranks are a secondary levelling system beside each one of your Descendant characters’ Level. The Mastery Rank increases more slowly than your Descendant’s Level. Mastery Rank 1 is required for:

  • Thunder Cage
  • The Last Dagger
  • Smithereens
  • Greg’s Reversed Fate
  • Restored Relic
  • The Final Masterpiece
  • Nazeistra’s Devotion
  • Albion Cavalry Gun
  • Fallen Hope

While each Mastery Level Up may seem like a small boost, eventually, they will start to significantly improve your Module Capacity and Inventory space, making this system a vital aspect of progression in TFD.

Mastery Rank 10 is required for:

  • Blue Beetle
  • Divine Punishment
  • Python
  • Wave of Light
  • Kingsguard’s Lance

  • Frost Watcher

To improve the Mastery Rank of your Descendant, you simply need to keep playing and completing missions. Completing Quests and upgrading your Weapon also provides some Mastery XP.

Mastery Rank 15 is required for:

  • Clairvoyance

  • Enduring Legacy
  • Secret Garden
  • Afterglow Sword
  • Peace Maker
